The day started off poorly for Iowa Hawkeye fans when they learned that already suspended running back Adam Robinson was arrested in his home town of Des Moines Monday night. Fortunately for fans though he was arrested just hours before his backup Marcus Coker gave Hawkeyes a show in the Insight Bowl by rushing for 219 yards and two scores in the Insight Bowl.
Coker was great in the game by producing on nearly every rush, and showing some much needed speed that the Hawks haven’t seen in some time. Neither Iowa nor Missouri played a pretty game especially on defense but the game was one that could go down as the best bowls of the season.
Going into 2011 Coker looks to be ready to explode into the Big Ten with some much needed power and speed. He has had two great high school prospects that have signed this past week and the team looks a lot better on offense than most would have predicted.
The defense will lose many tools but there is some major hope especially with the impressive Solon,IA native James Morris at MLB. Unless there is a major change the team will also have one of the best defensive backfields in the country with Tyler Sash, Shaun Prater, and the improving Micah Hyde.

I am so very pleased at this win. Ive been taking in Iowa football since
the 1950s and have seen many seasons come and go. A relative of mine played with Nile Kinnick. I like Coach Kirk Ferentz and his staff for what they have done for the program at UI, my aluma mater. The game tonight was a blessing and a joy! Yes I was dissappointed this year but only to a point. Tonight was a well earned and well deserved win! I can hardly wait for next Fall, but alas I must.. Thank you to all those who made this possible – you have our hearts and best wishes for a glorious New Year. GO HAWKS! Thank you so very much!
