Many people had high hopes that 6’6 athlete Christian French from Cedar Rapids Kennedy would have picked Iowa, but he has chosen to attend the University of Oregon.
Many locals are disappointed that French is leaving the state, but most national analysts feel that Oregon’s creative offense and recent successes may fit better than the overly conservative playing style of Iowa’s.
The loss of French to the Iowa program becomes a big hit as they have now lost two prospects that they could have had contribute fairly soon on the team. Recently lost 3-star player Melvin Gordon from Wisconsin who de-committed shortly after visiting the Iowa campus.
