Washington Redskins: Hulk Hogan Wants Adam Carriker To Be A Pro Wrestler

Washington Redskins defensive end Adam Carriker could have a future in pro wrestling according to Hulk Hogan.

WASHINGTON (FNN Media) — Washington Redskins defensive end Adam Carriker could have a future in pro wrestling according to Hulk Hogan.

The former first-round pick doesn’t hide his love of the sport (yes, sport). In fact, he whole-heartedly embraces it by co-hosting a pro wrestling radio show called 4th & Pain (as a point of disclosure I am the other host).

On a recent family vacation to Orlando, Carriker had a chance to go backstage at a TNA Impact Wrestling taping where he met a ton of talents including the aforementioned Hogan.

Perhaps much of their meeting is thanks to Brooke Hogan who helped wrangle Carriker’s young son who was doing his best to run wild backstage. She brought him back to his father, gushing about how cute the little boy was.

All the while, Hulk was getting out of his car to meet Carriker.

Hogan mentioned that he thought the Redskins player could have a future in wrestling.

“Well, you know I’m young,” Carriker said, thinking Hogan was joking around.

As it turns out Hogan wasn’t joking at all.

“He stopped dead in his tracks. And he goes, ‘Well how old are you?’ ” Carriker continued. “And I go, ‘I’m 28 and I just signed a four-year deal with the Redskins. Let there be no confusion I am a football player first. Plain and simple I’m a football player who has a radio show talking about wrestling and football. But I am a football player first.”

Perhaps at that point Carriker was thinking that would be the end of it. But it wasn’t.

“You can kind of tell when people are placating you, having fun with you and they’re just being nice. He stops dead in his tracks and he goes, ‘Well, you keep us in mind if you ever want to wrestle.’ . . .

“I was up until 2 a.m. I was so wired from this thing. Especially the comments from the man himself.”

Not a bad endorsement for someone even remotely considering getting into the squared circle. But football first for now.

Be sure to catch Carriker and I on 4th & Pain each week on 4thAndPain.com.
