Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan announced he has no plans to play the rookie starter in the team’s preseason finale against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Wednesday night.

Griffin capped off his exhibition series with a win and an 11-of-17, 74-yard, one-touchdown performance in what was billed as a head-to-head battle with this year’s top overall pick, Andrew Luck.
