Fred Davis’ season appears to be over.

The Washington Redskins tight end tore his left Achilles according to multiple reports.

Davis suffered the injury on a 3rd and goal play late in the first quarter while cutting in the back of the end zone.

He was assisted off the field, hopped on one leg to the training table and eventually driven to the locker room.

Washington announced Davis will not return to Sunday’s game. He did, however, return to the sidelines on crutches with his left foot in a boot.

ProFootballTalk.com was first to report the severity of the injury.

It remains to be seen whether the team will reach out to Chris Cooley.
