It appears Pierre Garçon will not play Sunday when the Washington Redskins face the St. Louis Rams.
The wide receiver wants to test the suspect right foot prior to kickoff, but is unlikely to be on the active roster according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The injury — described as ‘turf toe like’ — limited Garcon in practice on Thursday and Friday.
“I think it’s [a] pretty easy [decision] when it’s pain tolerance,” head coach Mike Shanahan said Friday. “If he can go live with the pain and feels like he can go full-speed, then you let him go. If it’s a situation where you’re going to make it a lot worse, then obviously the chances of him playing aren’t very good.”
Garçon caught four passes for 109 yards and a touchdown before suffering the injury in last weekend’s win over the New Orleans Saints.
The strong showing in his Redskins debut earned him ’4th & Pain Championship’ honors.
The radio show is hosted by his teammate, defensive end Adam Carriker, and Chuck Carroll.
