Jammal Brown will be sidelined for at least month after undergoing hip surgery.
The Washington Redskins right tackle had a procedure to repair a torn ligament in his hip last Thursday.
Grant Paulsen of 106.7 The Fan reports Brown’s surgery ‘went well’ and that the recovery time is expected to be four to six weeks.
Brown spent much of the offseason trying to strengthen heal what had become an increasingly unreliable body by turning to alternative methods such as yoga.
A first-round selection of the New Orleans Saints, Brown earned trips to the Pro Bowl in 2006 and 2008 as he lived up to the expectations that come with being a high draft pick.
However, he has been riddled with injury since tearing his labrum in 2009.
The Redskins placed Brown on the physically unable to perform list early in training camp.
