Redskins Sign Alfred Morris, Tom Compton & 5 College Free Agents

The Washington Redskins signed a pair of sixth-round draft picks and five college free agents following this weekend's rookie minicamp.

ASHBURN, Va. (FNN Media) — The Washington Redskins signed a pair of sixth-round draft picks and five college free agents following their 2012 rookie minicamp.

The team announced the signings of running back Alfred Morris (drafted No. 173 overall) and tackle Tom Compton (No. 193 overall) Sunday afternoon. The duo became the fourth and fifth of the team’s nine draft picks to sign their first NFL contracts.

Morris, 5-foot-10 and 215 pounds, appeared in 47 games with 36 starts for Florida Atlantic. He rushed for 3,529 yards on 27 touchdowns while in college.

Compton, 6-foot-5 and 315 pounds, started in all 43 games he appeared in while at South Dakota.
