Ryan Grant’s stay in Washington has turned out to be a brief one.
The Redskins released the veteran running back Tuesday as Keiland Williams was brought back to fill his roster spot.
Grant signed with Redskins on Sept. 25 and appeared in just one game where he had one carry for five yards.
Williams, who has three starts in 35 career games, originally signed with the Redskins as an undrafted college free agent in 2010. The LSU product spent last season with the Detroit Lions after he was claimed off waivers.
He amassed 459 yards and five rushing touchdowns on 125 carries during his career.
The Redskins also waived wide receiver Emmanuel Arceneaux from the practice squad. Cornerback Domonique Johnson was signed in a corresponding move.
