Redskins Injuries: Garçon Says He’ll Be OK For Rams, Sundberg Breaks Arm

The Washington Redskins didn’t make it out of New Orleans unscathed.

A number of players, including wide receiver Pierre Garçon, were injured in the 40-32 upset win over the Saints.

Garçon suffered an undisclosed injury to the top of his foot in the first half and was unable to return. The x-rays were negative, however.

“It’s going to be good,” Garçon told Comcast SportsNet following the game. “Just have to get a picture of it and get ready for St. Louis.”

When directly asked whether he’d be able to play against the Rams he enthusiastically stated he’d be ‘ready to go.’

Garçon and Robert Griffin III connected four times for 109 yards, including an 88-yard touchdown, prior to the injury.

Long snapper Nick Sundberg broke his left arm on a blocked punt in the first half. Despite the injury, the third-year special teamer out of California was able to finish the game.

Rookie safety Jordan Bernstine was carted off the field with a right knee injury in the first half. Head coach Mike Shanahan didn’t know the severity of the injury following the game, but said he would be out.
