The Baltimore Ravens crushed the Oakland Raiders 55-20 on Sunday afternoon at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland.
Baltimore improved to 7-2 on the season and sits atop of the AFC North Division heading into next weeks showdown with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Quarterback Joe Flacco had a career day completing 21 of 33 passes for 341 yards, 3 touchdowns and one interception to go along with his QB rating of 115.8. Flacco threw touchdown passes of 5,47 and 20 yards.
Wide receiver Torrey Smith continued his streak of touchdown receptions this season with 2 touchdown grabs . Smith finished his afternoon with two receptions for 67 yards.
The Oakland Raiders offense struggled mightily against the Ravens defense. Baltimore kept Palmer pressured and allowed the Oakland quarterback to throw for 368 yards and two touchdowns and one interception with one coming in trash time late in the game.
Baltimore running back Ray Rice became just the 2nd player in team history to reach 5,000 career rushing yards. Rice also scored his 36th career TD – 3rd all-time in Ravens history. Rice was not the only Ravens player to set a record today wide receiver/kick returner Jacoby Jones became only player in NFL history w/ 2 career KOR-TDs of at least 105 yards (4th quarter). He has a 105-yarder & 108-yarder this season.
The Ravens special teams unit had a solid day with one fumble recovery by ace Brendon Ayanbadejo and punter Sam Koch scored a touchdown on a fake field goal in the third quarter.
Baltimore will head to Pittsburgh next Sunday to take on the Steelers for the first time this season.
