The Baltimore Ravens placed reigning Defensive Player of the Year on the teams Reserve-Physically Unable to Perform list on Monday.
Suggs, who suffered a Achilles injury during offseason is slated to miss at least the first six weeks of the 2012 season. He can begin practicing after the sixth week of the season and can practice for up to three weeks before being designated to the active roster, IR or waived.
Joining Suggs on the Reserve-Physically Unable to Preform list is wide receiver David Reed. Reed suffered a torn ACL against the Browns last season but has been rehabbing at the Ravens facility throughout the offseason.
Baltimore placed linebackers Steve Baggs (leg), Darryl Blackstock (leg), safety Emanuel Cook (leg) and defensive tackle Ryan McBean (ankle) on injured reserve thus ending their seasons.
The moves cut the Ravens roster to 75 before Monday’s deadline.
