Baltimore Ravens safety Ed Reed was upset over the reaction he received over a recent tweet he sent out to his followers.

On Saturday Reed tweeted ” Back home with my son, he’s riding his bike an I’m doing yard work! Tell the bosses I’m comfortable!

Many people thought the message was directed at the Ravens front office perhaps implying he won’t attend training camp until he gets a new contract.

Reed was unhappy about the media uproar it caused even though he did not confirm what the message actually meant.  Reed fired off on twitter once again stating “We tweet about our camps with kids throughout offseason why That never makes espn, http://nfl.com  etc… This probably won’t get a RT. Build people up, not tear them down.” he also added “Players that have2be smart business men,in a business that don’t care an inch about them though we grind for that inch-notalwaysrightbutreal.”

The veteran is set to hold his youth football camp July 16 and 17 at Stevenson University in Maryland.

ProProFootballTalk.com’s Mike Florio seems to think Reed could possibly be using Terrell Suggs injury as leverage to gain a new contract. In an article on ProFootballTalk.com Florio stated “This could be Reed’s last chance to get paid, and with the Ravens hoping to push through to the Super Bowl without Suggs for all or a big part of the season, not having Reed would hurt more this year than it ever would have hurt before. “So use your leverage, Ed.  You may never have it again.”
