Quinn’s Criticism Of Tebow Didn’t Hurt Chances Of Returning To Broncos

Brady Quinn said his comments were misunderstood. As it turns out, Broncos head coach John Fox agrees.

INDIANAPOLIS (FNN Media) — A lot was made of Brady Quinn’s recent comments about Tim Tebow.

The free agent Denver Broncos quarterback questioned Tebow’s humility in an interview with Mike Silver of Yahoo! Sports.

Quinn, a former Notre Dame standout, said the comments had been misunderstood. As it turns out, Broncos head coach John Fox agrees.

“Knowing their relationship, knowing both Brady and Tim very well myself, I think sometimes things get lost in translation,” Fox said Thursday at the NFL Scouting Combine. “I know their relationship is very close. They have a lot of respect for each other. They’re very good teammates to each other. That’s what I know. It’s hard for me to stay up with all the comments, but I kind of know what I know.”

Fox also reiterated the Broncos plan to sign additional quarterbacks this offseason to compete with Tebow. Apparently re-signing Quinn is not out of the question.

The coach said Quinn’s comments had not hurt his chances of returning to Denver.

“We still like Brady Quinn,” he said.

And he’s a fan of Quinn’s character.

“I think that just shows you kind of who he is,” Fox said when asked about Quinn’s apology to Tebow.
