Miami Dolphin Players taught children from the Boys and Girls Clubs of Broward how to fish on Monday as part of the Jr. Angler’s Clinic presented by Publix at the International Game Fish Association in Dania Beach. The clinic was part of the Miami Dolphins Fishing Tournament, presented by Alterna Financial, to benefit the Miami Dolphins Foundation, which will be held on Saturday, May 19 at the Miami Beach Marina.
General Manager Jeff Ireland, Isaako Aaitui, Vincent Agnew, Ryan Baker, Davone Bess, Marcus Brown, Dan Carpenter, Karlos Dansby, John Denney, Brandon Fields, Nate Garner, Tyrell Johnson, Jerome Messam, Marlon Moore, Paul Soliai and Jonathon Wade all took part in today’s event.
“This serves as a nice little warm-up for the Fins Weekend, but that’s on whole different level,” said Bess in a press release by the Dolphins, who reeled in the largest fish of the day, a bass, from the bigger lake on the other side of the walkway. “The main thing about today is just seeing the smiles on the kids’ faces and just the amount of joy that we bring to them just by hanging out with them. They also get to see a different side of us and see that we’re regular guys and we fish with them and have a good time.”
