Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco was absent on Wednesday from day two of the teams mandatory minicamp and with good reason.

Flacco returned to Philadelphia to be with wife who went into labor and obvious excused absence from the team.

Dana Flacco was initially due to give birth to the couple’s first child on Saturday. “Joe got the call this morning, obviously the labor has started,” Harbaugh said. “He was high-tailing it up the road to Philly to be with Dana. We wish them nothing but the best. They don’t know if it’s going to be a boy or a girl.”

Former Defensive Player of the Year Ed Reed missed his second day of mandatory minicamp on Wednesday.

The unexcused absence from the teams three-day minicamp could result with fines levied against Reed by the Ravens.

Reed could be fined up to $63,000 for the missed practices and $9,000 for missing a team physical. “I have a lot of respect for Ed,” Harbaugh said, however Harbaugh has not spoken with his safety.
