The brother of Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Torrey Smith’s brother was killed in a motorcycle crash early Sunday morning.
Smith left the Ravens’ hotel around 2 a.m., accompanied by a member of the Ravens’ security staff, to be with his family, reports ESPN’s Sal Paoantonio.
Smith told Ravens coach John Harbaugh that he wanted to play in Sunday night’s game against the New England Patriots.
The coach left the decision in Smith’s hands.
The 23-year-old used his Twitter account to post tributes to his brother.
Some messages were retweeted nearly 3,000 times by Ravens fans.
Smith has four receptions for 108 yards this season.
I can’t believe my little brother is gone…be thankful for your loved ones and tell them you love them…this is the hardest thing ever
