UPDATE: The Broncos have tentatively scheduled a 1 p.m. press conference where Manning will be introduced as the team’s next quarterback.
DENVER (FNN Media) — The Denver Broncos and Peyton Manning burned the midnight oil on Monday in hopes of finalizing a deal.
More specifically, Broncos Director of Football Administration Mike Sullivan and Manning’s agent Tom Condon were hammering out the structure and conditions of the deal.
It’s a heck of a task for Sullivan, who was just hired last month.
The two sides adjourned late in the evening, but plan to return to finalize the deal Tuesday morning.
The NFL is also reviewing the language of the deal according to Albert Breer of the NFL Network.
The team is hoping to be able to officially announce the deal and introduce Manning as their new quarterback Tuesday afternoon.
Despite a good visit with the Tennessee Titans over the weekend, Manning chose Denver to be his new home. As it turns out, it appears they were his first choice since he was released by the Indianapolis Colts.
