The Baltimore Ravens Training Facility was a place full of hopes and dreams on Saturday as the NFL held their regional combine at their Owings Mills, Maryland complex.

NFL Regional Combines serve as a supplement to the NFL’s National Scouting Combine and provide an opportunity for players to display their skills before veteran NFL talent evaluators. Players that attend an NFL Regional Combine may be invited to attend the NFL Super Regional Combine which will be held at Ford Field in Detroit on March 30-31. Players invited to the Super Regional will have the opportunity to work out and showcase their talents in front of current NFL team scouts and player personnel directors.

The NFL Regional Combines are held for specific players meeting certain criteria: Players eligible for the 2012 NFL Draft but not attending the National Scouting Combine, Players with college playing experience who want to gauge their pro potential and  Players with some pro playing experience, but who have been out of the game for a period of time.

One particular stand out attending the combine was running back. Keon Lattimore. Lattimore, who attended the University of Maryland and played for the Dallas Cowboys is also Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis’s younger brother.
