Baltimore Ravens: Ed Reed Says Injury Getting Worse, Ray Lewis 100 Percent

While Arian Foster is sure to get a fair share of carries on Sunday, the Houston Texans will likely spend much of the afternoon throwing in the direction of on an ailing Ed Reed.

The Baltimore Ravens safety revealed he has been suffering from a shoulder injury that has worsened in recent weeks as he tried to play through the pain.

“I had a stinger hurt me this year so bad in my right shoulder to where it has affected my deltoid (muscle) and my scapula,” Reed told ESPN.

The confession comes as somewhat of a surprise as the Ravens did not disclose it on their injury reports in recent weeks.

Reed is confident he will play this weekend, but will have his hands full with Texans receiver Andre Johnson. The biggest challenge for the veteran will come after Johnson has actually made a catch.

“My shoulder has just been hanging on the last couple of weeks,” said Reed. “You could see how it has affected me for the most part. I think I’ve missed one tackle for four games straight.”

The Ravens did get a spot of good news on the injury front this week as head coach John Harbaugh revealed Ray Lewis’ toe has completely healed.

“Any report to the contrary is absolutely untrue,” said Harbaugh. “His toe is 100 percent and has been for a couple of weeks.”
