The Baltimore Ravens captured their second straight AFC North by defeating the N.Y. Giants 33-14 on Sunday afternoon.
Baltimore quarterback Joe Flacco snapped the Ravens 3 game losing streak outshinning the Giants Eli Manning.
Flacco was impressive all afternoon completing 25 passes for 309 yards and two touchdowns and one rushing touchdown. The Ravens offense was firing on all cylinders managing 521 total yards of offense.
The Ravens running game was equaly as impressive as the passing game. Runningbacks Ray Rice and rookie Bernard Pierce combined for 200 yards rushing . Pierce complied his first 100-yard rushing game of his career.
The Giants offense failed to show up and was knocked around all day by the Ravens defense. The stout Baltimore defense contained the Giants secondary and run game. Quarterback Eli Manning finished the night 13-of-25 for 137 yards. The Ravens defense welcomed the return of linebacker Dannell Ellerbe and it was noticable in their run defense. Giants running backs Ahmad Bradshaw and David Wilson combined for just 34 yards rushing and one touchdown.
The Ravens secured the number four seed in the post season and will host a home playoff game on either January 5 or January 6.
