The Oakland Raiders won’t have newly signed Andre Carter against the Denver Broncos.
The defensive end was declared inactive.
Carter, who signed with Oakland on Wednesday, is coming off a Pro Bowl season with the New England Patriots that was cut short by a knee injury. The prolific pass rusher recorded 10 sacks and 22 hurries before being placed on injured reserve on Dec. 20.
His four sacks against the New York Jets on Nov. 13 tied a Patriots record.
Also inactive for the Raiders: Khalif Barnes, Darrius Heyward-Bey, Richard Gordon, Shawntae Spencer, Terrelle Pryor and Lucas Nix.
