LANDOVER, Md. (CBSDC) — The Washington Redskins will hold their preseason finale tonight against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Without many starts in the lineup, here are a few shorelines to follow.
Brandon Banks: The speedy returner did not play in the first half of last Saturday’s exhibition against Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts. His second half performance on kickoff and punt returns left a little to be desired.
However, the pint-sized Kansas State product did take one to the house just one week earlier proving, once again, his value on special teams.
Mike Shanahan has said Bank must make the roster as more than just a return man. Will he have another opportunity at wide receiver?
Anthony Armstrong: The wide receiver has gone from breakout talent, to backup duty to being a man on the bubble during his tenure in Washington. He’ll need to flash the promise shown in 2010 in order to stake a claim to remain on the roster this season.
Defensive line: Undoubtedly, the d-line is among the deepest positions on the team, several players will be battling for what could be one of the final spots on the 53-man roster. Doug Worthington and Darrion Scott are two players on the bubble that have played well this preseason.
Billy Cundiff: After Neil Rackers was cut, it appeared Graham Gano would have his third full season in Washington. However, just one day after winning the job, Gano was also shown the door and former Baltimore Raven Billy Cundiff was signed.
