Former Denver Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels is rumored to have “intrigued” the Oakland Raiders as a potential replacement for Tom Cable.
McDaniels was pink slipped earlier this season by the Broncos following a 3-9 start to the season that included the second video taping scandal of his career.
Also on the team’s radar is current Stanford head coach Jim Harbaugh according to FOXSports.com’s Nancy Gay. Harbaugh is reportedly fond of owner Al Davis.
Offensive coordinator Hue Jackson is no doubt on the team’s list of potential candidates as well given his improvement on the offense this season.
Of course all of this speculation is moot if the Raiders opt to stick with Cable.
The Raiders decision on Cable’s tenure with the club will have to come before Jan. 18 when Al Davis is contractually obligated to inform him whether his option for the 2011 season will be picked up.

You obviously don’t know anything about the Raiders.
McDaniels, You are obviously making this stuff up. Sad! This obviously isn’t a site Raider Fans need to frequent. Please, make up something Al might be thinking.
Al has been crucified for a lot of things, and I am usually an apologist for him (hearkening back to the old days that garnered him hall of fame inclusion) but if he were to really consider replacing Cable with Josh Mcdaniels… I could defend no more. Hopefully that is bad information. I think Cable has the team going the right direction and improving and deserves to see it through another year, then reevaluate as needed. But Harbaugh, that might be worth a conversation…
