Rams Linebacker Open To Joining WWE During NFL Lockout

If the NFL Lockout persists, there’s no guess work as to what career St. Louis Rams linebacker James Laurinaitis will wind up pursuing. He will follow in his father’s footsteps and join the ranks of pro wrestlers in WWE.

“I should take up pro wrestling. It’d be a natural transition,” Laurinaitis told Ohio State’s student newspaper. “I might have to try to get in the ring a little bit, take on John Cena or Randy Orton. . .

“I’d consider it. You don’t want to mess around and get hurt. But if it’s just a few run-downs here and there or something, I’d maybe at least get some of the training done.”

His father, Joe Laurinaitis, wrestled for years as Road Warrior Animal and is a member of the WWE Hall of Fame.

On a personal note, I love it when my worlds collide. I was recently hired as the play-by-play voice for BKEU Wrestling in Florida which is run by fellow WWE Hall of Famer Afa The Wild Samoan. He’s also Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s uncle and kind of a big deal.
