Robert Gallery is choosing to remain professional despite taking a thumping in the media by his former team.

When the offensive lineman announced he and the Oakland Raiders mutually agreed it was time for him to move on last week he did so with a touch of class.

A few hours after the story broke Raiders senior executive John Herrera gave the team’s side of the story, which was a little more unconscionable according to some.

“What was mutually agreed upon were his numbers he wanted, and his agent wanted, were way out of line,” Herrera said last week. “He was asking for too much money. “He wanted $8 million; we were at $2.5 million. It was just way out of line with what we thought was reasonable.”

Gallery responded Wednesday night in Baltimore, reiterating that he enjoyed playing for Mr. Davis and opting not to publicly fire back at the only franchise he’s ever played for.

“My parents always told me to be professional, be classy and tell the truth,” said Gallery, per the National Football Post. “What he chose to say is his business, and I really don’t have any comment on what he said. I’ve always told the truth.”
