Jason Garrett

It wasn’t the most impressive win of the year for the Dallas Cowboys, but it showed the team has a future under Jason Garrett.

The Cowboys topped the Philadelphia Eagles 14-13 Sunday afternoon.

The Eagles were playing without the likes of Michael Vick, DeSean Jackson, LeSean McCoy and Asante Samuel among others.

The win closes the chapter on one of the roughest seasons in recent Cowboys history.

Dallas’ win comes on the same day the team was rumored to have taken the interim tag off Jason Garrett as head coach.

Starting in place of Vick, Kevin Kolb was 18-of-36 for 162 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions.

Kolb and first-year receiver Chad Hall established a rhythm early and often. The pair connected six times for 84 yards and a touchdown on the afternoon.

Jerome Harrison lifted the Eagles run game with a 99-yard performance, including a 36-yarder.

Stephen McGee was 11-of-27 for 127 yards in place of the injured Jon Kitna who played the role of backup Sunday afternoon.

Felix Jones carried the ball 11 times for 81 yards in Dallas’ season finale.

Miles Austin accounted for the majority of McGee’s passing yards. The two connected on a pair of 31-yard strikes for 62 yards.

The curtain comes down on Dallas’ season with a 6-10 record. In reality, it was a tale of two seasons.

The team was 1-7 under Wade Phillips, but finished 5-3 under Garrett.

The Eagles will host the Green Bay Packers in the first-round of the playoffs.
