Terrelle Pryor could find a home in the Great White North this fall. The Saskatchewan Roughriders of the CFL have acquired the negotiating rights to the former Ohio State quarterback.
With Pryor’s situation as unique as it is, the CFL could be a legitimate possibility for him. His attorney, Larry James, admitted as much Wednesday.
“Yeah, it’s like I told (the Roughriders). My house is not for sale, but at the right price, it’s on the market,” James said, per ESPN.
Although a possibility, the CFL may be a third option for Pryor. The ex-Buckeye may find a better home in the UFL where he can get solid experience and hope to catch on with an NFL team once their short season wraps in November.
Pryor may also opt to enter the NFL Supplemental Draft and bypass the minor leagues altogether.
Still, the Roughriders remain a distinct possibility and the team is hoping they will have Pryor in uniform this season.
“He’s a heck of an athlete,” team general manager Brendan Taman told the Associated Press. “We get a lot of U.S. college football up here. We’re well aware of him. With the (bigger) field up here in Canada, with the athlete that he is, he would be an interesting component to come up here and run around and do some things as a quarterback.”
