Oakland Raiders offensive lineman Bruce Campbell confirmed reports he would be switching back to tackle this season.
Campbell said he was looking forward to making the transition back to his native position during an appearance on this week’s broadcast of the JRich Report with former Raiders defensive end Jay Richardson and myself. He played left tackle at the University of Maryland, but was put at guard for his rookie season in the NFL.
Ironically, making the position switch as a rookie will lead to increased confidence during his sophomore season.
“I really don’t mind too much,” Campbell said regarding the transition back to tackle. “I mean guard led me to realize a few things like that I can run block . . . I have a bit more confidence at tackle now even more because of me playing guard.”
