Braylon Edwards a Bears Target?

Plaxico Burress doesn’t seem to be on the Bears radar.  One player that they might go after would be Braylon Edwards, who last played with the New York Jets.

Edwards has had his share of problems, including a DUI and a subsequent suspension, but he’s exactly what the Bears need, a big, physical receiver who would give Jay Cutler a reliable target in the end zone.

Edwards has roots in the midwest.  He’s from Detroit, played his college ball at Michigan and was the #3 pick in the NFL draft by the Cleveland Browns.   While he hasn’t quite lived up to expectations thus far, Chicago might give Edwards the opportunity to live up to the hype that surrounded him when he entered the league in 2007.
