It has been widely reported the Houston Texans are interested in signing Nnamdi Asomugha. Now, it appears team brass are getting help from one of their star players to help make it a reality.
Wide receiver Andre Johnson has been lobbying for the Oakland Raiders free agent to sign with the team according to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle.
“Andre Johnson said he’s talked to Nnamdi Asomugha on more than one occasion and told the cornerback he should sign with the Texans,” McClain posted on Twitter.
It was previously reported that the franchise likely wouldn’t be able to cut that Texas-sized check that would land him in the Lone Star State–at least in Houston.
The Dallas Cowboys are considered to be among the front runners to land the All-Pro. NFC East rivals the Washington Redskins are also near the top of Asomugha’s list according to various reports.
Asomugha wants to play for a contender, which presents an opening for him to join the Baltimore Ravens who are just up I-95 from the Daniel Snyder owned franchise.
