Former Washington Redskins head coach Jim Zorn didn’t have to travel far to find a new job.
The Baltimore Ravens hired Zorn as their new quarterbacks coach on Saturday according to the Baltimore Sun.
Current Ravens consultant Al Saunders was also in the running for the job, but Zorn’s past experience likely gave him the edge.
Zorn was ousted by Redskins owner Daniel Snyder less than one day after the team finished their season. He guided the club to a 12-20 record over his two seasons in Washington.
“Jim played successfully in the league for a long time and certainly understands what an NFL quarterback goes through,” Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said. “He has been an NFL quarterback coach, NFL head coach and is familiar with our offense. That’s a great resume for us.”
Zorn will have his hands full with backup quarterback Troy Smith in Baltimore. Smith stated that he would love to play for the Cleveland Browns during an interview with ESPN Cleveland this week.
