WR Jackson’s Agents Say Chargers Killed Trade

Vincent Jackson

Vincent Jackson is still waiting for a new contract

Sunday, Vincent Jackson’s agents said that they had a deal worked out with another NFL team who they declined to identify.

According to Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune, Jackson’s agents claim that the Chargers derailed the trade talks because their asking price for the Pro Bowl wideout was too steep.

“The reason the deal didn’t happen was because the Chargers were asking for too much,” Jonathan Feinsod said.

San Diego still controls the rights to Jackson, and seem determined to control the market for the disgruntled wideout as well.

An article posted Saturday on CBSSports.com quoted an NFC general manager saying a trade did not get done because Jackson’s agents were still asking for more than the four-year, $47.5 million contract that Brandon Marshall received from the Dolphins.

Jackson’s agents denied the claim saying, “That article is not correct.”

The Jackson-less Chargers’ open the season Monday night on the road vs. Kansas City at Arrowhead stadium.
