With Heckert in Town Will Browns Finally Pay Cribbs?

Josh Cribbs

The agent for Josh Cribbs is optimistic that the Cleveland Browns will finally “pay the man” now that Tom Heckert is the team’s G.M.

Recently, the Browns offered Cribbs little more money than he is making now on his below market deal, so he and his agents scoffed at the deal and vowed that he would sit out next season if they did not up the offer.

It seems that everybody wants Josh Cribbs to remain in Cleveland… except the Browns.

However, now that Heckert is officially on board, there is renewed hope that a deal could be reached with a player who has already cleaned out his locker and stated it would be the last time he entered the Browns building.

“Now that Mike Holmgren and Tom Heckert are running things this will get worked out,” Cribbs’ agent J.R. Rickert posted on his Twitter account Tuesday morning.

Perhaps the optimism has already faded. Rickert removed the post later in the day.
