Vikings tell Favre to take time

Brett Favre

The Minnesota Vikings are not rushing QB Brett Favre into a decision on his future. This has been an annual event since Favre’s last year in Green Bay.

“I’m not going to put him in any box,” Vikings Head Coach Brad Childress said Friday at the NFL’s annual scouting combine. “Four weeks and change, he’s still healing up from that game [the NFC championship]. He’s kind of earned that latitude.”

Childress went on to say if Favre retired he would be comfortable with Tarvarius Jackson or Sage Rosenfels.

“Would it be nice to know sooner rather than later? Yeah, but you have to be able to deal with ambiguity in this business whether you’re a coach or a player.” said Childress.
