Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings lead the Dallas Cowboys 17-3 at halftime of their NFL divisional round playoff game.

The 40-year-old quarterback phenom could be just 30 minutes away from a date in the NFC Championship game next Sunday against the New Orleans Saints.

Favre, who said that he is once again thinking about retirement, had a strong first half, completing 8-of-13 passing attempts for 131 yards and two touchdowns.

Adrian Peterson added 25 yards on the ground behind nine carries.

Perhaps more of a weapon for the Vikings is their defensive line who were able to pressure Tony Romo at will.

The Vikings sacked Romo four times in the half and forced three fumbles from the Cowboys quarterback. They recovered two of them.

Ray Edwards was responsible for three of the sacks.

Romo was 13-for-19 passing for 135 yards. He did not thrown an interception

Felix Jones and Marion Barber have been limited in the backfield by the stiff Minnesota defense.

The two combined for just 32 yards on 11 carries.

The Dallas Cowboys have only come back from 14 points down to win once in team history. They have been in the league since 1960.
