Vikings’ Four Sacks Give Sam Bradford a Rude Welcome to NFL

Sam Bradford

Sam Bradford played four series and was sacked four times in his NFL debut.

The top overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft got a rude awakening in his pro debut Saturday night with the St. Louis Rams.

Sam Bradford was 6-of-13 passing for 57 yards against the Minnesota Vikings with no picks or touchdowns.

The real story, however, is the lack of protection the Rams offensive line provided their new leader. Bradford was sacked a total four times and fumbled once against Vikings defenders.

Bradford, who signed a six-year, $78 million contract last month, entered the game in the second quarter and played a total of four series before turning over the reigns over to Keith Null.

Starter A.J. Feeley was 3-of-6 passing for 19 yards.
