Ray Edwards
Minnesota Vikings defensive end Ray Edwards is having a monster performance in his first ever NFL playoff game. Unfortunately, he was also injured.
Edwards injured his right knee while working on pinning the Dallas Cowboys deep in their own territory.
The team is calling it an inside right knee injury according to Chris Meyers of FOX Sports.
Team trainers cut off part of his pant leg and put a flexible cast on the injured knee. Evidently the cast was uncomfortable, so a different cast was applied and taped around his knee.
Edwards then told the team that he wanted to go back in.
Before the injury Edwards had three sacks on Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo.
UPDATE: It now appears that Edwards will not return to the game. He is on the Vikings sidelines with an ice wrap on his knee. No worries for Minnesota though, as the game is comfortably in hand.
