The Vikings are confident they can treat Percy Harvin going forward
The Minnesota Vikings training staff is confident that they can prevent wide receiver Percy Harvin from having episodes like the on that landed him in the hospital this week in the future.
While they are confident that they can prevent another episode, they still don’t know exactly what causes them. Head trainer Eric Sugarman told NBC’s Andrea Kremer that figuring out the proper treatment and medication for Harvin is like putting together a puzzle.
While the pieces continue to fall into place for his treatment, the Vikings have instructed Harvin to call them the minute he feels the first symptom of one. They have also given him a protocol to follow upon it’s onset.
Despite the scary episode, from a medical standpoint Harvin was healthy enough to play in Sunday night’s game against the 49ers. However, he was not allowed to make the trip because flying so soon after the episode would be ill advised.
