Unreal! Cardinals Beat Packers 51-45 In Overtime on Fluke Play

Kurt Warner

Kurt Warner

In an absolutely unbelievable game, the Arizona Cardinals defeated the Green Bay Packers 51-45 in overtime in Sunday’s NFL Wild Card Weekend finale.

Ironically, it was the Cardinals defense that scored the game winning touchdown in an offensively dominated game.

Arizona kicker Neil Rackers had an opportunity to win the game with :14 second left, but missed a 34-yard field goal attempt wide left, which sent the game into extra time.

Green Bay won the OT toss and the rest will go down in history… for the Arizona Cardinals.

Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers fumbled the ball right into the hands of Karlos Dansby who ran it into the end zone and capped off the highest scoring post season game in NFL history.

Rodgers and Kurt Warner were a combined 57-of-75 passing for 801 yards and nine touchdowns.

The two teams combined for 1,024 total yards.

The funny thing is that at halftime the game was anything but exciting. The Cardinals were up 24-10 at that point, but the game wasn’t really even that close.

Something happened in the Green Bay locker room at halftime that lit a fire under their offense, because they were unstoppable in the second half.

Hell, Arizona’s offense was unstoppable all day too.

It was clear that the last team to have the ball was going to win. And that’s exactly not what happened.

Looking at an unreal stat line, Warner was 29-of-33 passing for 379 yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions.

If this is the final season of his career he is going out with a bang.

The Cardinals wide receivers stepped up in a big way in Anquan Boldin’s absence.

Steve Breaston caught seven passes for 125 yards and a touchdown.

Larry Fitzgerald and Early Doucet each had six receptions and two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, Rodgers was no slouch for the Packers. The most impressive stat was that he was held to 34 yards late into the second quarter. His second half was all-universe.

He finished the day completing 28-of-42 passing attempts with 422 yards, four touchdowns and one interception.

Jermichael Finley and Greg Jennings combined for 14 catches, 289 yards and a touchdown en route to the loss.
