Fans will have the opportunity to name the expansion franchise
The UFL is asking fans to cast their votes to determine the name of the expansion franchise in Norfolk, Va.
The NFL alternative has narrowed the list of potential names down to four from an overwhelming among of submissions.
The franchise names on the ballot are: Destroyers, Navigators, Commanders and Tritons.
In addition, fans will also be able to choose whether the franchise will be known as “Virginia” or “Hampton Roads.”
The UFL has partnered with The Virginian-Pilot, PilotOnline.com, Radio 102.1 The Game and FanHouse.com to launch the ‘Your Town, Your Team, Your Name – You Make the Call’ fan poll.
Fans will have until October 2 to cast their vote.
The franchise kicks off next year with the 2011 UFL season.
