The two year old son of former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Randall Cunningham drowned in a hot tub at the player’s Las Vegas home according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
The child was found floating in the backyard tub by an unidentified woman just before 5 p.m. She got him out and started CPR. Paramedics arrived and rushed him to a hospital but they were unable to revive him.
“It appears that it’s just a complete tragedy,”Lt. Dennis Flynn told Fox5News. “It only takes a brief minute for someone to take their eye off the child.”
Cunningham was not in town, but according to sources was in the process of flying in when the incident occurred.
The former NFL star has four children with his wife Felicity.
Cunningham played quarterback and punter for the Philadelphia Eagles for 11 seasons. He also played for the Baltimore Ravens, Minnesota Vikings, and Dallas Cowboys.
