Tom Cable said Bruce Gradkowski and Kyle Boller were 'pretty darn good'
As the Oakland Raiders head into the regular season, head coach Tom Cable is feeling good about his quarterback situation.
Perhaps adding one final dig at a report suggesting the team was interested in acquiring Matt Leinart, Cable went out of his way to praise backup quarterbacks Bruce Gradkowski and Kyle Boller following Thursday’s preseason finale against the Seattle Seahawks.
“I thought the play of the two quarterbacks has been pretty darn good,” Cable said. “Particularly last week with Bruce [Gradkowski] and then he came in today and did some nice things. And Kyle [Boller] kind of picked up where he left off. So, I think there’s some positives that way.”
Gradkowski, who locked up the No. 2 quarterback spot last week, started the game and played through the first half. He finished the night 7-of-14 passing for 128 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Boller was 7-of-13 passing for 157 yards and 1 touchdown in second half relief.
Jason Campbell, along with a host of other starters, did not play against the Seahawks.
