David Howard pleaded no contest to an assault charge on Tuesday.

Lawrence Taylor wasn’t the only man with NFL ties to appear in court on Tuesday.

Tennessee Titans rookie David Howard pleaded no contest to a charge of misdemeanor assault in Rhode Island this morning according to Evan Silva of PFT.

Howard allegedly beat up a patron at a bar where was employed as a bouncer in April of 2009.

The defensive lineman’s attorney told Silva that his client’s record will be expunged if he stays out of trouble for one year.

Howard was drafted in the seventh-round (No. 241 overall) of the 2010 NFL draft out of Brown University.
