Free agent running back Thomas Jones will visit with the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The former New York Jets running back has been on the Chiefs radar for some time, actually. Rumors surfaced as early as Thursday that the team was interested in speaking to Jones.
Moreover, Chiefs coach Todd Haley made no secret of the fact that he wants to have a back that can complement Jamaal Charles.
Whether or not Jones wants to play second fiddle remains to be seen.
He is coming off the biggest season of his career—rushing for 1,402 yards and 14 touchdowns, but was cut due to an impending $3.3 million roster bonus.
