Cornerback Jacques Reeves and quarterback John David Booty joined their former teammate Kris Brown on the list of players on the outside of the final 53.
John David Booty’s frantic effort in the final pre-season game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was for naught. The team has decided that Dan Orlovsky will remain the back-up quarterback despite his poor play in the pre-season finale.
“I can’t dismiss the great camp he had because he made two poor decisions in the game,” Kubiak said.
Reeves suffered a broken leg during the last pre-season and was looking to rebound this year, but the touchdown pass that he gave up in the 24-17 loss did not help his cause.
“We’re going young at that position,” Head coach Gary Kubiak said. “There are five [cornerbacks] on our roster. We have five corners and four safeties, the same as last year.
“We feel good about our young guys.”
