Texans and First-rounder Kareem Jackson Reach Five-year Deal

Kareem Jackson

Kareem Jackson struck a five-year deal with the Texans early Friday morning.

The Washington Redskins weren’t the only team to sign a first-round draft pick Friday morning.

The Houston Texans and cornerback Kareem Jackson agreed to terms on a five-year deal according to Mark Berman of FOX 26 in Houston.

Jackson, drafted 20th overall, was an elite defensive back at Alabama where he started 40 of the 41 games he appeared in.

He registered 159 tackles (eight for loss) and picked off five passes during his collegiate career.

Jackson was the final Texans pick to sign and he will report as training camp opens today.

He is projected to be in the starting lineup for Week 1.

Financial terms were not immediately available.
