Steelers Release 10 Players, Need to Cut 11 More

Mike Tomlin needs to release an additional 11 players by Saturday evening.

The Pittsburgh Steelers trimmed their roster by 10 players Friday afternoon as they begin the process of cutting their roster to the league-mandated 53-man limit.

In the first waive of cuts were: TE Eugene Bright, OG Dorian Brooks, OT Kyle Jolly, WR Brandon London, TE Sean McHugh, DT Scott Paxson, LS Matt Stewart, S Justin Thornton, RB Justin Vincent and LB Renauld Williams.

The team must release an additional 11 players by 6 p.m. Saturday.

The Steelers have been dominating headlines Friday with Ben Roethlisberger’s suspension being shortened to four games.
