Denver Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall wasn’t the only player to sign his free agency tender on Tuesday.

Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Jeff Reed signed his one-year franchise tender offer and hopes to get a long-term contract completed shortly.

“It’s our goal to try to keep working and see him stay for a long time in Pittsburgh,” Reed’s agent Don Henderson told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. “They told us that’s what they want and that’s what we want. They’ve been dealing with us and talking to us. Hopefully, we’ll sign a long-term contract and he will remain in Pittsburgh.”

It’s been a big week for the kicker who was cleared of drunk in public charges on Monday.

Reed connected on 27 of 31 field goal attempts and was perfect on extra points last season.
