Ben Roethlisberger
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger declined an invitation to participate in the Pro Bowl on Wednesday.
He was the first alternate to replace New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady who also pulled out of the NFL all-star game.
Roethlisberger injured his shoulder during the team’s final game of the season and has been advised not to play.
“His shoulder was not 100 percent from our final game in Miami,” Steelers head of public relations Dave Lockett told ESPN. “Our doctors and trainers have recommended that he should allow it to heal 100 percent.”
Matt Schaub of the Houston Texans will take the AFC roster spot.
Roethlisberger should have been the 1st QB from the AFC asked to the pro bowl. It just goes to show that Brady is still the favorite pretty boy of the voters, even though he had no business being picked first this year…over Reothlisberger and Manning…are you kidding me?
